Fresh picked orange margarita
Now, before you start to judge me, I don't always have a drink on a Monday, but this particular Monday was a doozy. As soon as I got home and saw my little Lucy and how beautiful the afternoon weather was, I could breathe a sigh of relief.
What did I do? No, I didn't have a margarita. I packed the kid into the stroller and put Bert on a leash and hit the track. I'm working on getting my running legs back, so I ran the straight aways and walked the curves. We headed home and I saw the oranges on my little dwarf orange tree. That's when it hit me! The higher acid in winter citrus would be GREAT in a margarita. Not to mention, one of my employees brought me a bottle of tequila from their trip to Mexico and I hadn't tried it yet.
INGREDIENTS:
- 5 small oranges
- Juicer
- 1 1/2 shots of Centenario Reposado tequilla
- Ice
I got out the old school juicer. Cut the 5 oranges in half and made some orange juice. Filled the glass with ice and a shot and a half of the tequilla. Gave it a stir and viola! It was delish!
Then I thought I'd let Lucy stretch her legs, so I put her in her walker on the deck and enjoyed my marg on the deck with a helluva view.
